FOOD SAFETY TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION (FoSTAC)

FoSTAC is a participatory program of training and capacity building, designed to enhance public awareness while simultaneously training food handlers across the value chain. Its success would rest on forging of partnerships amongst all stakeholders, since food safety has to be a shared responsibility.

There are two categories of target audience ;( a) Citizens and consumers through the SNF/ Food Safety awareness programmes. (b) Food Safety Supervisors involved in any kind of food business (registered or licensed) and Students/Professionals/other persons intending to enter the food industry.

The training modules can be molded into three main groups, BASIC, ADVANCED and SPECIAL is the three levels of Food Safety Supervisor Courses. There would be two modes of delivery. (a) Online courses include the NQ and SNF modules for Health and Wellness. (b)Class room courses for the Food Safety Supervisors at all three levels (viz. Basic, Advanced and Special).

Food Safety supervisors training is made mandatory by FSSAI.

Training will be identified by the Training partners for the various training courses and will undergo training and certification by national level resource person or state level resource persons in training and trainer's programs. They will be responsible for providing trainings to the target group of FoSTAC.
